Dinosty Fossils was born from a deep fascination with the ancient sea that once covered what is now Southern Alberta — the Western Interior Seaway. For millions of years, ammonites and other prehistoric creatures thrived here, leaving behind an extraordinary fossil record. Today, this region is home to some of the rarest and most visually stunning fossils on earth, including the iridescent gemstone known as ammolite — found nowhere else in the world in gem quality.

Ethical Mining & Responsible Sourcing

Every specimen we offer begins with responsible, licensed collection from permitted sites in Southern Alberta. We take our stewardship of these irreplaceable natural resources seriously. That means:

• Working only with properly permitted claims and landowners
• Minimizing disturbance to surrounding matrix and habitat
• Documenting locality and stratigraphic data for each significant find
• Respecting provincial and federal fossil regulations

We believe the best specimens deserve the most careful hands — from the moment they leave the ground to the moment they reach you.

In-House Preparation & Restoration

What sets Dinosty Fossils apart is that we do everything ourselves. There are no middlemen, no mystery suppliers, no mass-produced replicas. Every piece is prepared in our own studio using professional-grade tools:

• Air scribes and micro-abrasives to remove matrix and expose fine detail
• Microscope work for delicate suture lines and surface features
• Consolidants and stabilizers applied only where structurally necessary, and always disclosed
• Skilled restoration — when restoration is done, we document exactly what has been restored so you always know what you're getting

Our preparation process can take anywhere from a few hours to several weeks depending on the specimen. We don't rush it.
